01 Nov Care Mobile Unveiled!
Yesterday, we unveiled Atlanta’s first Ronald McDonald Care Mobile along with our partners, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding! As a core program of Ronald McDonald House Charities, this Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is the 49th unit in the world, and the first to serve metro Atlanta’s children that are vulnerable to asthma.
The event featured speakers, donors and special guests from Children’s, Atlanta RMHC, Global RMHC, and The Goizueta Foundation. During the unveiling event, guests enjoyed refreshment’s from our founding mission partners, McDonald’s, and they were able to have personal tours of the Care Mobile after the ribbon cutting!
Our 40-foot Ronald McDonald Care Mobile took more than six months to build, with two exam rooms, a draw station, a pulmonary function lab and waiting area. It will be staffed by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta employees under the medical direction of Ann-Marie Brooks, MD, a pediatric pulmonologist and medical director for The Asthma Center. The Care Mobile team includes a pediatric nurse practitioner, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, and mobile outreach technician. This high-tech, high-touch mobile clinic will provide asthma medical care and education at select schools in the City of Atlanta, DeKalb and Fulton Counties.
We can’t wait to serve the children and families of Atlanta with our state-of-the-art Care Mobile!
