05 Aug Welcome Rachel Kendall, Our New Special Events Coordinator
Rachel Kendall joins the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities staff as our Special Events Coordinator. Originally from St. Joseph, Missouri, Rachel grew up with an interest in working for nonprofits, which she credits her mom, a nurse, for inspiring.
Watching her mom care for others sparked a desire in herself to do the same. This desire coupled with the fact that she’s “always wanted to work with an organization that advocated for and served families of children who were going through health challenges,” led her directly to the Charity.
While obtaining her bachelor’s in business management and marketing at Northwest Missouri State University, Rachel discovered her affinity for planning and overseeing events, which lead to her master’s in human development and leadership with a concentration in nonprofit from Murray State University.
As Special Events Coordinator, Rachel can tap into all of her passions while supporting a mission that is near to her heart.
She brings with her a varied expertise, having previously been a residence hall director at Georgia State University and an operations coordinator at Bearings Bike Shop, both of which required her to lead and aid in the management and implementation of events. Outside of that, Rachel says she brings along her “big heart, eye for detail, and sense of humor,” all of which will allow her to uniquely contribute to ARMHC’s mission.
Rachel will help manage and oversee many of our signature events, such as Brookhaven Tour of Homes and Handbag Hullabaloo™, as well as all third-party events and assist Caroline Tate, director of special events. Rachel also support our Red Shoe Society and Future Leaders Board.
