17 Dec Meet Our McDonald’s Round-Up! Champion: Jeff Nichelson
Don’t call Jeff Nichelson a champion. He will insist he is not, but he is. Jeff has raised more than $2,500 since August through our new Round-Up for RMHC fundraiser that is now available at McDonald’s everywhere.
Round-Up for RMHC is an extension of the donation box program that is available 365 days a year and easily allows customers to round-up their order total to the next dollar.
“I don’t consider myself a ‘champion,’ Jeff says. “It’s just what God wants me to do. I tell the other crew members that Round-Up helps sick kids and their families who have to go to the hospital often and for long periods of time.”
Since April 2008, Jeff has worked at the McDonald’s at Windermere Parkway in Cumming. Since the Round-Up fundraiser was launched this summer, he has been asking customers, “Would you like to round up to the next dollar for Ronald McDonald House?”
Jeff thanks customers each time. “I am surprised when they say that I am the only one who has asked them. I have one regular customer who donates every time.”
By asking his customers to round up Jeff’s efforts will fund 20 nights for a family at one of our Houses.
“It’s important to help families with sick children,” Jeff says. “I know it’s hard to have to be at the hospital so much and the Ronald McDonald Houses help them a lot.”
