29 Jun Ronald McDonald Houses help alleviate stress and anxiety
Having a sick child and living in a hospital can have a strong negative impact on parents.A recent study conducted by the Journal of Child Health Care assessed the different causes of anxiety and stress for parents of hospitalized children. The overall resulting factors included the behavior and appearance of their child, separation from family, and the lack of comfortable housing facilities in hospitals.
The results from this survey further prove the importance and impact of Ronald McDonald Houses. While the hospitals successfully provide medical care for children in need, the Ronald McDonald Houses keep the families comfortable and safe at little or no cost. With the accommodations provided by our “home-away-from-home,” parents feel less stress and anxiety while tending to their child in need.
