13 May Baby Braxton’s Brave Journey
Rebecca Hinton was 26 weeks pregnant when doctors diagnosed her baby with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). Baby Braxton would need three major open-heart surgeries, the first of which would be immediately after birth.
After researching the best options for their unborn child, Rebecca and Cody Morris, were referred to Atlanta for specialized care. “As soon as we walked through the hospital doors, we knew this was the right choice for us.”
Their social worker introduced them to the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House near Scottish Rite. “This has helped us so much in navigating our difficult situation with our newborn.
“Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities has truly been the biggest blessing, making it possible for us to be with Braxton in the hospital and easing the financial stress of staying long-term in Atlanta,” Rebecca says.
The Atlanta House has become Rebecca and Cody’s second home. “The House has provided us with a roof over our heads, transportation, meals, a great support system and even activities to keep our minds busy,” Rebecca says. “We will forever be indebted to the Ronald McDonald House.”
