16 Jul Making a Difference with Round-Up for RMHC
Genuine Heart of McDonald’s Crew Member Creates Change for Atlanta RMHC Families
Encouraging customers to Round-Up their extra change may seem unimportant to some, but for the McDonald’s Crew Member, Regina Wibel, and Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities’ families, it is absolutely critical.
Regina, or “Gigi” as she is known by her fellow crew members, asks each customer the same question, “Do you want to round up your change to the nearest dollar for Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities?”
For Regina, promoting Round-Up warms her heart. “I know what it’s like to have a child in the hospital,” she says. “I always say that when you’re in need, then plant a seed.”
Her dedication to others and commitment to encouraging her fellow crew members to promote Round-Up is influential. Since January, the McDonald’s in Calhoun, GA where she works has raised over $16,000 via Round-Up and are on track to exceeding their $30,000 annual goal.
Each day, Regina sets a goal of raising $100. “I’d like to raise as much as possible,” she says. “I know who it’s helping and every single penny adds up.”
Having the support of her crew members and mentors at the Calhoun McDonald’s makes all the difference for Regina. “It’s like a home away from home for us,” she says. “Our managers are our family here.”
Calhoun McDonald’s store manager Desiree Rodriguez, has continually cheered on Regina and her co-workers in their push for Round-Up. “We support and love Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities,” Desiree says. “McDonald’s is about love, support, and family, so we just encourage that others pass on the love as we do.”
The impact made by the Calhoun McDonald’s would not have been possible without each and every individual crew member and their incredible mentor, Desiree.
