10 Feb Meet the Taylor Family
When Helen Taylor and her son Austin received the call, they dropped everything and began the 5-hour journey to Atlanta. The call was from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston telling Austin he had a new heart waiting on him. By the next morning, Austin had received a life-saving heart transplant.
While the doctors cared for Austin, the Ronald McDonald House cared for his family, providing a comfortable place to rest and recharge. “It’s like a home,” describes Helen. “We have been extremely blessed by everybody, here at the House and at the hospital.”
The Taylor family has stayed at the Ronald McDonald for 82 nights and counting while Austin recovers. They credit Austin’s strength and healing to their wonderful doctors, the incredible staff at the Ronald McDonald House and God. “Our supporters and the people who love us, the prayers, the offerings… Everything has been phenomenal. We give God all the glory and all the praise.”
Since 1979, more than 45,000 families like the Taylor’s have called an Atlanta Ronald McDonald House home during their time of need. Will you open your heart so we can continue to be a beacon of hope for families who rely on our services?
