01 Nov Welcome New Volunteer Team Members, Bridget and Mekayla!
Keeping families close to one another in a health crisis is not possible without gracious volunteers and wonderful staff.
Among those making a difference, are Bridget Barrett, Volunteer Coordinator, and MeKayla Davis, Family Room Coordinator, who started October 1.
Bridgett, an Atlanta native, graduated from Georgia Southern University with a bachelor’s degree in child and family development and a concentration in child life.
She previously worked for another nonprofit organization for children and adults with special needs. Having a family friend stay in one of our Atlanta Ronald McDonald Houses inspired her to join our team.
“In my new role, I love being able to interact and form relationships with so many different individuals who have the same passion for serving our families,” Bridgett says.
California native, Mekayla’s, favorite part of the job is being able to meet families and encourage them.
She is a graduate of Georgia State University and has a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
Prior to Atlanta RMHC, Mekayla worked at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta as a unit secretary and volunteered in the Ronald McDonald Family Room. The Family Room became her “happy place.”
“Being able to see firsthand how the charity truly takes care of families made me want to join the staff full time,” MeKayla says.
