25 Jan Meet Sarah Sandler, Our Communications and Marketing Intern This Spring
Sarah Sandler, a senior at Kennesaw State University, is our spring communications and marketing intern. She is majoring in human services with a concentration in nonprofit management and social innovation.
Her major provides the opportunity for students to obtain certification in nonprofit (CNP) through specific class courses and attending the Alliance Management Institute (AMI) conference. Her love for nonprofits started when she was a sophomore in high school.
Sarah first started working in the nonprofit sector helping women out of sex trafficking. “I loved being able to see the freedom women would obtain after being rescued from these horrific experiences,” Sarah says, adding she was able to gain knowledge about the behind the scenes work nonprofits do through this organization.
Sarah was also able to work for a nonprofit this summer at a camp in California that helped children from difficult backgrounds receive a free and loving camp experience.
“After working here, I knew I wanted to help children at any capacity,” Sarah says. When she heard about the Ronald McDonald House Charities through a friend, she decided to pursue an internship.
“I love the vision of the RMHC, and I love story telling, I think that this internship is a perfect mixture for what I want to do for my future,” Sarah says. She is excited to see her passions of helping others and marketing merge this semester.
