06 Jun Meet Emma Parrish, Marketing/Communications Summer Intern

Meet Emma Parrish, one of our summer marketing/communications interns. From Atlanta, Emma is a rising senior at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.

“I am so excited to have the opportunity to serve as an intern for Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities this summer,” Emma says. “I am a public health major with a focus in marketing, so I am looking forward to gaining hands-on marketing experience at a nonprofit organization.”

Emma’s interests range from marketing and healthcare, to clean water initiatives and poverty eradication in the realm of global health. A firm believer in social justice and health equality, she has traveled to countries such as South Africa, Guatemala and Panama.

“Through my travels, I was able to see firsthand the deep need for health education and sustainability worldwide,” Emma says.

Growing up, she noticed that there isn’t just need abroad, but also in her own neighborhood. She plans to use her degree and skills to serve others after graduation.

“Ronald McDonald House Charities is such a unique organization where I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer for before,” Emma says. “Meeting the needs of families and providing comfort during difficult times is something that I am excited to play even a small role in.

“Bringing others stories to life and being able to people a voice is something that is also very important to me,” Emma says.
