11 Jul Passion City Church Brings Love Atlanta to Our Houses
Passion City Church likes to spread love around Atlanta. For the fourth year, Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities benefited from their service week, Love Atlanta.
“Love Atlanta is a movement mobilize people across the city to inspire them to move towards a lifestyle of service,” says Dana Brennan, Love Atlanta’s founder. “We connect people to amazing organizations to form bonds. We also want to see uncommon bonds happen between organizations. The hope is that this connection will light people’s hearts on fire to serve.”
This year, Love Atlanta tackled 325 projects with 110 partners, including Atlanta RMHC. “Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities does incredible work,” Dana says. “We have seen firsthand the impact your House has made, given families from Passion City have needed your services.”
Love Atlanta sent 121 volunteers to our House near Scottish Rite to serve breakfast, lunch and make casseroles. Others baked sweet treats, complete with a taste testing. Volunteers also served at our House near Egleston and hosted bingo nights.
Kinsey Stroud, Love Atlanta onsite coordinator, said she was happy to be assigned to lead the project at Atlanta RMHC.
Another volunteer, Shelby Foltyn, a nursing student says, “I know a lot about Ronald McDonald House Charities so I jumped at the opportunity. I wanted to interact with the families and learn more about their stories.”
