Meet Sherma Brooks, New Evening Manager at Our House Near Scottish Rite

Sherma Brooks joins our House team as the evening manager at our House near Scottish Rite.  She recently relocated from San Francisco where she retired after a 20-year career as a protective service worker with the San Francisco Human Services Agency.

Sherma discovered Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities and became intrigued by our mission while job searching. “I enjoy supporting families and children,” she says. “I liked how Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities provides support to the families during their most vulnerable times.”

She has her master’s in social work, which has gained her extensive experience in communications, problem solving and mediation. She hopes to bring her experience and expertise in providing a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for our families and children to stay.

“My favorite part about the Charity so far is the wonderful staff,” Sherma says. “They are so friendly, welcoming and supportive. I also enjoy meeting the families and children. I can’t wait to participate in the annual fundraising events.”

When Sherma is not spending time at the House, she enjoys cooking, hiking and traveling.
