29 Sep Welcome Aleea Bishop, Volunteer and Program Coordinator for Ronald McDonald House near Scottish Rite
Welcome to Aleea Bishop, our new Volunteer and Program Coordinator at the Ronald McDonald House near Scottish Rite. Aleea joins the team after serving as a marketing intern this spring.
“After the first month of interning, I knew I wanted to continue my career in the nonprofit industry with Atlanta RMHC,” Aleea says. “Everyone I met at the Charity, whether it was a family, volunteer or staff member, showed kindness like I’ve never seen before.”
Aleea is a recent graduate of Piedmont College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and data science. When not at the House, she is working on her M.B.A. at Kennesaw State University.
“In the first few days of my internship, I quickly discovered that it is called the Ronald McDonald House for a reason – it is a home for everyone who enters its doors,” Aleea says. “When a new opportunity with the Charity arose, I couldn’t look past it. Now, I get to continue working with so many kind and welcoming individuals, serving families who need it most.”
In her new role, Aleea is responsible for the overall success of our volunteer programs at our House near Scottish Rite and secures meal donors to provide healthy and nutritious meals for our families. She also identifies off-site opportunities for engagement such as our family activity kits and helps manage our Teen Board, which includes the Teen Council and VolunTeen groups.
‘I am excited that Aleea joined our Atlanta RMHC family full time. She brings an eager spirit to our team,” says April Clark, Director of Family and Volunteer Services. “Even though she has only been in her new role for a short time, Aleea has helped navigate the unknowns of this pandemic and identified ways to improve our current opportunities, as well as thinking of ways to adapt our volunteer services program post-COVID.”
