16 Apr Former Weekend Manager Meagan Pind Wins Hiscox Grant for the Atlanta RMHC
Former House weekend manager, Meagan Pind’s former day job with Hiscox, an insurance company, paid big dividends for Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities this spring when she won a major Hiscox Foundation grant in support of the families.
At the company’s national meeting, Meagan received one of the inaugural “Hiscox Gives” awards for her involvement with Atlanta RMHC. She received a $10,000 check on behalf of the Charity.
“The foundation gives out grants to various charities and also support regional charities that each office chooses,” Meagan says.
“Surprised doesn’t begin to explain how I felt when I received the award,” Meagan says. “They brought me up on stage and pulled out a giant for ARMHC. I felt so honored and appreciative for their donation that all I could do was blink through tears and smile at the crowd.”
With the many years of experience through volunteering and serving at our Houses, Meagan has been able to see the positive ways that the Atlanta RMHC has served families.
“By spending so much time here, you really get to see the impact that it has on peoples’ lives,” Meagan says. “The House really does bring people together during a difficult time in their lives and having simple things, like a home cooked meal, seems to take away even a little stress.”
