11 Jan High School Senior Golick Raises More Than $3,000 for ARMHC
Senior Marshall Golick is the varsity kicker for the Woodward Academy War Eagle Football team. This season, he scored 72 points for his team and more for the children and families of Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Using our Raise Love online fundraiser platform, Marshall created “Kick It! for Ronald McDonald House,” a spin-off of the Kohl’s Kicking national charity project. He asked family and friends to pledge dollars toward every point he scored during the 2018 season. His goal was to raise $2,500.
“The Ronald McDonald House lessens the number of worries that parents have at a time when they need to be totally focused on their child’s treatment and nothing else,” Marshall says, adding a family connection, Jeff Wansley, former Atlanta RMHC Board chair, helped connect him to the Charity. “I think the practical assistance that RMHC provides to families is what led me to choose RMHC — I just wanted to know that the contributions of friends, family and teammates’ families were going to be used for practical purposes.”
Marshall scored 72 total points and his Kick It! for Ronald McDonald House fundraiser raised more than $3,000!
“I hope that every kicker in the nation does a Kick It! project of some sort. It’s easy to do, and it really makes an impact,” Marshall says. “My only regret is that I didn’t do this type of project sooner, but I will continue with this project if I’m fortunate enough to kick in college.”
