Concerns about the potential spread of coronavirus have impacted our policies and procedures at our Ronald McDonald Houses. Out of an abundance of caution and to protect the medically fragile children staying with us, we are restricting the amount of people who may enter our Houses through the end of April, including suspending our volunteer and Meal Group programs.
The heavy demand is heavy on our pantries to begin to go bare and this is where we need your help! The best way to help is to order from our Amazon wish list: http://amzn.to/2BaSw96. On Amazon Smile, select @ARMHC at http://amzn.to/2OFlzUh, or use your grocery’s Instacart service.
“Please help us provide a well-balanced meal to warm the hearts and souls of families when they return from a long day at the hospital, especially during this time of uncertainty,” says Aleea Bishop, our Volunteer Services and Program Coordinator. “Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our Houses and we could not do it without you.”
We are in urgent need of to-go meal bags with snacks for families to take to the hospital. These bags can include: individually packaged sweet and salty snacks, candy, individual packages of Macaroni and Cheese or Ramen Noodles, and juice boxes or water bottles. These and other pantry items can be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at either Ronald McDonald House. Items can be shipped anytime.
“You can also help by dropping off prepared individual boxed dinners from a caterer, grocery store, or a restaurant for our families,” Aleea says. If you are planning to drop off prepared meals, contact her at aleea.bishop@armhc.org to be put on our schedule. Any donations and in-kind giving would be greatly appreciated during this time of need.
