20 Nov Visit Atlanta RMHC at the Festival of Trees Through Jan. 1
Looking for a fun, free way to support Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities and get into the holiday spirit? Consider visiting the Fourth Annual Festival of Trees at Embassy Suites Atlanta Centennial Olympic Park, 267 Marietta St., through Tuesday, Jan. 1.
Volunteer managers, Kelsey McCullough and Jessica Perez, decorated the Charity’s tree, highlighting the bravery, hope and love of our families.
“Our goal for the tree was to showcase the heart of our House, in a way that is understandable to an outsider,” said Kelsey, our volunteer manger at the Gatewood House. “The ornaments have special words that explain what the House means to our families, volunteers and staff.”
McCullough and Perez used our family “what Ronald McDonald House means to me” drawings to create the tree skirt.
“Our goal for the tree skirt, was to share from our children’s eyes what Atlanta RMHC means to them,” said Jessica, our volunteer manager at the Peachtree-Dunwoody House.
tlanta RMHC is one of 30 area-nonprofit organizations participating in the annual event that celebrates the holidays and helps raise community awareness. You can “vote” for your favorite charity by placing monetary donations in corresponding envelopes at the hotel’s front desk. All proceeds will benefit the designated charities.
Last year, the event raised $18,000 for the participating charities.
