17 Apr Volunteering has been a “Blessing” for the Copelands
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, when we salute and honor the many dedicated and gracious volunteers, who help support our mission of helping families access equitable medical care and heal together.
Meet some of the volunteers who help care for our families. To all our volunteers, thank you for your unwavering support.
Gloria and Miles Copeland
“It brings us such joy to hear and see how thankful and appreciative the Atlanta RMHC families are,” Gloria Copeland says.
Gloria and her husband, Miles, have been volunteering at our Atlanta Ronald McDonald House near Scottish Rite and our Family Room for more than seven years.
When volunteering with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the Copelands learned of our constant need for food donations. Since they are a part of two organizations that specialize in food rescue from restaurants and grocery stores, they provide and stock our kitchens with many kinds of yummy foods.
Helping families and children has been a true blessing. “We cannot imagine how much it would cost for families if meals were not provided by Atlanta RMHC,” Gloria says.
Volunteering at Atlanta RMHC and putting the needs of others before theirs has brought Gloria and Miles closer together. They love to serve and are happy they can make friends in the process.
“The facilities and staff at Atlanta RMHC are so beautiful and giving,” Gloria says. “We want to be a part of this organization for as long as they will have us!”
