04 Oct Thank You to Synovus For Stocking Pantries with #WishList Drive
Thank you to our corporate friends, Synovus Bank, for holding a #WishList drive to help restock our pantries at both Ronald McDonald Houses and Ronald McDonald Family Room during their annual “Here Matters” Day of Service on September 18.
“With a mission of helping families stay close together, Atlanta RMHC is a wonderful channel for Synovus to make a positive impact in Atlanta,” says Caroline Bielan, Regional Senior Credit Officer and Atlanta RMHC Board of Directors member. “Indeed, many of those served by Atlanta RMHC come from small towns across the southeast, the same footprint that Synovus serves.”
Calling the #WishList drive and donations incredible, Ansley Wetherington, our Volunteer Services and Program Coordinator says, “This is a great way for companies to give back and still make an impact on the lives of the children and families we serve, while our in-person volunteering is still paused.”
On September 18, the bank had roughly 500 members in 60 markets, including Georgia, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee, donate time and resources to more than 60 organizations, including Ronald McDonald House Charities. Synovus estimates 50 team members from Synovus and its affiliate Creative Financial Group donated to the #WishList drive.
“Synovus understands the best way to ensure the long-term health of the bank is to help ensure the health of the communities they serve,” Caroline says. “That means more than taking deposits or providing loans. It also means serving with our time, talent, and resources.”
Synovus Bank is based in Columbus, Georgia, with $55 billion in assets and is the largest bank headquartered in the state. Synovus is a preferred McDonald’s Franchise Lending Program partner and supports Atlanta RMHC at the corporate level through donations, an Adopt-a-Room sponsorship, as well as participating in our Meals That Heal Program. Many Synovus team members have longstanding individual relationships with the Charity as well.
