03 Sep Mary Grace Raises Love for Atlanta RMHC
By Mary Grace Morrison
As a child, I was often sick. It was hard to not feel good and be a kid, but I had my family close by to support me and world-class medical care at my doorstep here in Atlanta. As I grew older and became a teenager, I truly realized how lucky I was to have had the best doctors and treatments available to me. I also realized how many families do not have the resources I have, especially those who do not live near a dedicated children’s hospital.
I decided that I wanted to give back and so I set out on a campaign to fundraise for the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House. They say that it takes a thousand hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home. This is what the Ronald McDonald House embodies – a home away from home where families can rest, recharge and find support.
I reached out to my family, friends, and neighborhood and had a special day where I hosted a presentation about the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House and guests were able to tour the Ronald McDonald House near Scottish Rite and see firsthand the difference they make. I surpassed my goal of raising $25,000 and was humbled by the generosity of my community. In total, I raised $32,000 through my Raise Love campaign!
Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities made it so easy. It took no time to set up my Raise Love web page to tell my story and why raising money for the Ronald McDonald House was so important to me.
Please consider supporting this amazing place in any way you can – whether through starting a Raise Love campaign of your own, volunteering in the House, or donating directly or attending many events throughout the year. Home is not a place, but a feeling, and the Atlanta Ronald McDonald Houses are there to support, love, and uplift families when they need it most.
