22nd Annual Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities Golf Classic Raises $180,000 to Help Families of Sick Kids

ATLANTA, June 9, 2016 – The 22nd annual Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities Golf Classic raised $181,000, to benefit families of ill and injured children staying at Atlanta’s two Ronald McDonald Houses, which provide a “home-away-from-home for families who must travel to receive life-saving medical treatment for their child.

“We are grateful for the generosity of the sponsors and volunteers who contributed to the success of our Golf Classic,” said David Lerner, chairman of the event. “The tournament was the perfect setting for an afternoon of networking and introducing our mission to new supporters of the Charity.”

The Golf Classic was held last month at the Golf Club of Georgia. Total net revenues from the Golf Classic exceed $1.7 million since the first tournament was held in 1994. The presenting sponsors for the tournament were RBM of Alpharetta and Sports & Imports Collision. Premiere sponsors included The Coca-Cola Company, Manheim, Georgia-Pacific and Drew Eckl & Farnham in addition to more than 80 other sponsors.

About Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities

ARMHC is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to nurturing the health and well-being of children and families. The two Atlanta Houses have provided a “home-away-from-home” to more than 46,000 families since the first Atlanta House opened in 1979.

At the Ronald McDonald House, families can enjoy many of the comforts of home, receive nutritious meals prepared and served by volunteers and obtain emotional support through contact with other families experiencing similar situations. No family is turned away if they cannot afford the small $20 requested contribution and many of these families stay at the Ronald McDonald House for weeks, and sometimes months, while their children receive medical treatment.
