12 Feb Volunteer Spotlight: Tim Tyson
Volunteers are the heartbeat of our House. They provide strength, love and peace of mind to the families we serve. And volunteers like Tim Tyson keep the magic of the Ronald McDonald House alive with their passion for our mission.
Tim has been a devoted volunteer at both of our Atlanta Ronald McDonald Houses since he first visited the House near Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston in the fall of 2015. If you visit our Houses, you will usually find Tim sorting through bins of donated pop-tabs, getting to know the families during meal times, organizing the food pantry that’s available to our families 24/7 or assisting our Facilities Manager with odd jobs.
Tim has always been a charitable man, giving his time and talents throughout his life. He attributes these qualities to his loving parents who were always eager to help others and had hearts of gold. Although Tim has been known to give to those in need, something unique happened when he first visited our “home-away-from-home” on Gatewood Road near the Egleston and Emory campuses.
“A funny thing happened when I first visited the Ronald McDonald House. I fell in love with it. I mean head-over-heels puppy dog in love. The place, the people, and most of all, the purpose,” Tim expressed.
This Valentine’s Day, we’re thankful for the unconditional love and unwaivering support that keeps volunteers like Tim committed to our mission. It’s their impact that keeps families strong despite the stress, worry, and exhaustion that come while caring for a sick child.
Thank you Tim for making a difference for families like Bella’s!
