Ronald McDonald House Mom Surprised by Handbag HULLABALOO!™ Win

In June 2020, over 200 friends of Atlanta RMHC gathered virtually to participate in our first Handbag HULLABALOO!™ HOME EDITION. None were more excited than one of our moms, Patrice Trotter, who won a HULLABALOO! Bag, a Roberto Cavalli valued at $1,350, during the Round 3.

Patrice was a guest of our board member, Helen Carlos, who continued her streak of hosting a grand prize winner from our Ronald McDonald Houses. Thanks to generous friends including, our presenting sponsor, Georgia-Pacific, The Coca-Cola Company and Helen and Jimmy Carlos, the event raised more than $100,000 to benefit our families.

“My initial reaction to winning the HULLABALOO! bag was that I couldn’t believe it,” says Patrice, from Tennessee. “I was elated, and my mother was jumping up and down because we just felt so fortunate in that moment. I couldn’t wait to get that bag!”

Patrice played Handbag HULLABALOO! from the Hilton Home2 Suites, where she stayed due to COVID-19 with her mother, Terri Trotter, and her son, Jaiden, 7, who is receiving treatment at Scottish Rite before moving to the Ronald McDonald House near Scottish Rite.

“Our favorite part of the night was seeing everyone involved,” Patrice says. “We really loved seeing how much money was being raised for families like us!”

Patrice, Terri, and Jaiden all expressed their gratitude for the support from so many people despite the challenging times.

Adding to the excitement was Jaiden’s graduation from day rehab on July 2, after six weeks of hard work due to a traumatic brain injury he suffered in March.

Help support more families seeking life-saving medical care for their child, like the Trotter’s.
