Sibley Heart Center Cardiology Celebrates 24th Anniversary

Sibley Heart Center Cardiology celebrated its 24th Anniversary on February 27. Sibley Heart Center is a group of more than 40 pediatric cardiologists who specialize in caring for children with congenital heart defects, and those who develop heart problems later in their childhood or teen years.

To celebrate 24 years of helping children, Sibley employees joined together for a day of reflection and service. Many spoke about the families and children who have benefitted from Sibley Heart Centers across Georgia. The Sibley employees were also highlighted for their outstanding dedication.

Atlanta’s two Ronald McDonald Houses provide a “home-away-from-home for many Sibley heart patients and their families. In 2013, roughly 472 out of 1,700 family visits to ARMHC were cardiac related. ARMHC staff members Caroline Mealor and April Smith were invited to attend and speak on behalf of all the families served by ARMHC and Sibley. Also, to honor the families served by ARMHC, Sibley and other medical facilities throughout Atlanta, employees prepared 160 take-away-bags for the families who are staying at ARMHC. They filled the bags with toiletry items, snacks, game and a lot of care!
