Miss America with a family

Miss America Visits ARMHC

A special visitor stopped by the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House near Egleston this week to add some sparkle and shine to our family activity night with the families we serve.  Miss America 2016 and Georgia native, Betty Cantrell, spent the evening meeting our families.

After her meet and greet, it was craft time and excitement filled the air! The children made their very own crowns and took pictures wearing their crowns with Miss America.  The children had a blast covering their crowns with glue, jewels and stickers.

At one point during the song, Miss America invited the children to sing with her and our very own Kelcey Turner stood up in front of the crowd to sing the finale of “Let it Go” with Miss America herself! It was a sweet moment for all to witness and 6-year-old Kelcey said, “I love to sing just like Miss America! I used to sing in my church choir.”

The night was filled with laughter, fun and joy! It was truly a special evening for all of our families. We can’t thank Betty Cantrell enough for taking the time to visit our “home-away-from-home.
