Audi Volunteers

A Message Of Honor From Jim Dwyer

Within the Audi Southern Region, we wanted to do more by embracing the premise of giving back. At Audi, we are all individuals with varying backgrounds, situations and interests, but our desire to give back to our community brought us to Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities, allowing us to help families whose children seek medical care at the local hospitals.

As a group, we feel extremely blessed for what we have. Our health, our families and the support of each other has provided the inspiration to look outward and help others. Our first volunteer experience was in December 2015 at the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House near Children’s Healthcare at Scottish Rite. Eighteen months later, our commitment and desire to serve has only strengthened. At least once per month, we purchase, prepare, and serve the families who have made the Ronald McDonald House “home” during their child’s treatment.

Initially, we intended to provide a meal for families and children fighting through immeasurable health challenges, but it has turned into so much more. Beyond meals, we deliver an outlet of normalcy and hope for families to forget their health burdens and smile, if for only a brief moment. Their smiles and laughter are infectious as we bond with the families, children and each other.

Supporting the needs of our local community through this monthly visit has become our unique passion. Our time at the Ronald McDonald House has created a bond between us that transcends Audi. Each volunteer morning garners enthusiasm and joy, and a time that we all cherish and genuinely anticipate. Serving at the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House has expanded to include our own families and children, wrapping presents for the children around Christmas and various other donations.

“The Audi Southern Region is honored to give back to the local community. Serving at the Ronald McDonald House has become who we are and not simply what we do. Interacting with the families and helping them smile through insurmountable situations makes every minute at the House worth it,” says Jim Dwyer, Regional Manager for Audi Southern Region.
