Nancy and Jeff Roesch: Making an Immediate and Lasting Impact

Nancy and Jeff Roesch’s devotion to Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities runs deep. So does their desire to instill their love for the Charity in everyone they meet. Both are cancer survivors and understand the importance of community in the healing process.

“We have seen firsthand the immediate and lasting impact Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities has on children and their families,” Nancy says.

Inspired by a speaker at her former church, Nancy began volunteering at the House twice a week. Passionate about the mission and the families, she soon joined the staff and dedicated 10 years to keeping children and families close to each other and the life-saving medical care they needed.

“My time with the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House was the most fulfilling work of my career,” Nancy said. “Jeff and I feel blessed to be a part of an organization that provides comfort, hope and healing to families during critical times in their lives.”

While they have gotten to know many children and families, one, in particular stands out–a boy named Diego who travelled from Venezuela in dire need of a heart transplant.

“The strength shown by both Diego and his parents was inspiring,” Nancy says. “It demonstrated the depth of unconditional love, as well as the power of the Charity’s mission.”

Diego received a new heart and is living a healthy life, the Roesches say—outcomes that would have been out of reach if not for the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House.

Although she has retired, Nancy feels more connected to the organization than ever and they continue to support Atlanta RMHC.

“We’re extremely grateful we are able to give,” Jeff says. “And, we tell everyone the advantages of supporting the Charity through their IRA’s annual required minimum distribution.”

Nancy and Jeff have also named Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities as a beneficiary in their will.

“It is a wonderful feeling to know that a portion of our family trust, from our life’s blessings, will help carry on this important and compassionate mission,” explained Nancy—a sentiment with which Jeff wholeheartedly agrees.
