National Charity League Sharing Meals with Our Families Since 2015

National Charity League members sit with Ronald McDonald outside our Peachtree-Dunwoody House.

Since 2015, “sharing meals together” draws the National Charity League back to our Houses at least twice a month. In the summer, the League provides dinner and Bingo.

“Those nights are always fun!” says Gretchen Gartin, one of the League’s volunteers. “The National Charity League wants to give back and support families in our community. One of the most helpful and rewarding ways is through sharing meals and conversations with others.”

Gretchen says the volunteers enjoy talking with families at Houses and learning more about their experiences and what led them to stay with us.

“NCL volunteers always leave with a smile on their faces knowing they helped families feel a little more comfortable while being away from home,” Gretchen says. “Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities feels like a home away from home.”

Serving at the Houses is easy, Gretchen says. “The instructions and guidelines are always clear and easy to understand so that volunteers can be efficient,” Gretchen says.

In addition to preparing meals, the League has helped with the 5K for the past two years.
